2024 Devlog


After sitting on this project for a while, I decided to make some changes to the game. 

Zombies Ov Earlestown is a game which I originally made in 2017 when I first got into game development. It was the first project in which I created all my own assets, which I did in pixel art style and added some simple animations. This was my first true solo project without following a tutorial. 

In the original Zombies Ov Earlestown (Prototype), there was many things I wanted to change, namely, particle effects (for blood), UI update (including a main menu, death screen, pause menu, win screen). I tweaked the movement and camera to give a better feel to the game, along with some post processing. I also added an achievement system for every 10 kills, with the game win at 100 kills. 

I am quite happy with how the game turned out after working on it some more. There are still many things I could add, which I may do in a sequel in the coming years, such as more levels, a wave based system, different weapons, skills. 

Known Bugs:

When attacking an enemy, the screen sometimes flickers. This didn't happen in the Editor, only when the game was packaged, hence I didn't know how to fix this issue.
